Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Cost: Black belts are experts and proponents of new ideas. They are capable of managing both individual Yellow and Green Belt holders participating in the project and leading different project teams. They will have great accountability for overseeing the process’s whole lifecycle. Professionals or individuals who reach this level might become significant shareholders in the company and serve as essential consultants to the project team. 

Professionals who wish to hold a Black Belt must meet one of the following qualifications, according to ASQ:

Professionals must have finished two projects and submitted a signed affirmation with them. OR

three years of industry experience, one completed project, and a signed affirmation attached.

According to the organisation’s website, the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification costs $438 for ASQ members and $538 for non-members. There is a $338 retake charge. When it comes to certification requirements for the Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ has stricter standards when it comes to credentials than other groups. 

In contrast, there are no prerequisites for the CSSC to earn the Six Sigma certification. Instead, there are three Black Belt certification levels offered by the CSSC. Black Belt Level 2 and Black Belt Level 3 are $300 more expensive than the basic level, which costs $229. 

The Six Sigma Black Belt certification is available from the IASSC for $395, with no exam prerequisites.

A professional can test for the Master Black Belt accreditation after obtaining their Black Belt. Both ASQ and CSSC have specific requirements that candidates must fulfil to sit for the Master Black Belt Certification exam. The Master Black Belt Certification is not available from the IASSC.

Members who want to take the ASQ Master Black Belt Certification exam must pay $2,124 and $545 for the portfolio evaluation. The exam costs $2,229, and the portfolio review is $650 for non-members. The additional expense for ASQ retakes is $2,074. 

Professionals who want to take the CSSC exam to earn their Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification must pay $665.
